Overview

Kingree Law Firm practices worker's compensation law exclusively on the side of injured workers. If you are looking to make an impact as part of a dedicated team, this opportunity may be for you.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Intake Assistant/Legal Assistant. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing the intake process for new clients, ensuring that all necessary information and documentation is collected and summarized accurately and efficiently. This position requires strong communication and documentation skills, professionalism, adherence to protocols, capability to perform a high volume of work in a timely fashion, willingness to learn, and a basic understanding of legal processes and medical terminology. The Intake Assistant will work closely with attorneys and other staff members to facilitate a smooth onboarding experience for clients. In addition, Legal Assistant duties will be assigned.

This is a salaried – not hourly – position, with the intention of providing greater flexibility for employee work-life balance. Overtime is expected to be none or very rare.

Responsibilities

Conduct initial client interviews to gather pertinent information and assess viability of representation.
Prepare memorandums summarizing initial client interviews.
Prepare and send correspondence.
Keep track of potential clients and manage representation documentation.
Schedule and maintain attorney calendars.
Answer phone calls as initial point of contact for the firm.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail.
Create and organize documentation in case files.
Collect records from external entities, managing follow-up per protocols.
Administrative tasks and legal assistant duties as assigned by the firm.

Requirements

Desire to work in the legal field and assist injured Wisconsin workers.
Strong task management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in document creation and organization.
Attention to detail in handling sensitive information.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a high-volume environment.
Understanding of legal terminology and basic legal concepts.
Understanding of medical terminology and basic medical concepts.
