Full Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Manager to lead all aspects of accounting including financial statement preparation and audits, treasury, accounts payable and receivable, tax reporting and payroll. The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, compliance with accounting standards, support operations, and help optimize financial processes. This position reports directly to the C.F.O.

This is a hybrid position; Work from home one day a week

Key Responsibilities:

● Financial Reporting/Monthly Close: Prepare monthly financial statements ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. Generate accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Complete monthly close timely and ensure accurate data is provided to CFO

● Cash Management: Optimize working capital and cash management by proactively managing Accounts Receivable collections and Accounts Payable

● Systems and Security: Own financial reporting systems and maintain ERP platforms, data integrity, cyber security etc.

● Accounting preparation: Maintain the general ledger, including the preparation of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments. Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.

● Account reconciliation: Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts.

● Tax Reporting: Assist with tax preparation by providing necessary documentation and explanations to our external tax preparers. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

● Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other statutory requirements by completing a monthly / quarterly sales tax nexus analysis, and ensuring the company is up to date on all relevant licenses and taxes (state sales tax, property tax, franchise tax, business license tonnage tax, etc…).

● Payroll: Review and process payroll and ensure accurate booking of all payroll and related accounts

● Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives assigned by the CFO including system upgrades and process redesigns.

Qualifications:

● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. CPA certification is preferred.

● Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory, accounting manager, or assistant controller + role.

● Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.

● Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial regulations, and internal control frameworks.

● Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

● Other: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. High level of integrity and professionalism.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
