Position Overview

A warm, thoughtful, and highly organized private household is seeking an exceptional Family Assistant to become an integral part of a well-established and intentionally designed home environment. This is an outstanding opportunity for a mature, intuitive professional who thrives in supporting household operations while contributing to a calm, organized, and nurturing atmosphere.

The successful candidate will work alongside an engaged parent and existing household staff to help create seamless daily routines, support young school-aged children during the morning transition, and assist with a variety of household management responsibilities. This position is ideal for someone who naturally anticipates needs, values organization, appreciates refined household standards, and enjoys creating order through thoughtful service.

The family has invested in professional household support and values long-term relationships built on trust, discretion, kindness, and mutual respect.

Primary Responsibilities

Morning Family Support

Prepare children’s breakfast, lunches, snacks, backpacks, clothing, and daily necessities prior to school.
Assist children with morning routines, including waking, dressing, grooming, and preparing for the day.
Provide a calm, patient, and encouraging presence that helps foster positive morning transitions.
Safely transport children to school using the family’s vehicle.
Maintain consistent communication regarding schedules and daily priorities.

Household Operations

Maintain organized and orderly household spaces throughout the home.
Change bed linens on a scheduled basis and oversee laundering of household linens.
Complete laundry, folding, and organization of clothing and linens.
Assist with kitchen reset, dishes, and general household tidying.
Support organization projects throughout the home.
Coordinate recycling, donations, and occasional household errands as requested.
Return library materials and assist with obtaining new selections.
Assist in organizing children’s artwork, keepsakes, and seasonal items as needed.
Order household supplies and children’s necessities as requested.
Facilitate children’s routine health appointments when needed by the family.
Maintain clean, organized family vehicles through routine vacuuming, interior wipe-downs, and restocking of essential supplies.
Assist with occasional shopping and returns.
Assist the family with preparations for birthdays, holidays, and seasonal household projects.
Assist with additional household projects as priorities evolve.

Required Qualifications

Previous experience as a Family Assistant, Household Assistant, Household Manager, Nanny, or similar private service role.
Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
Ability to safely transport children.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to pass comprehensive background screening.
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
Verifiable professional references.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Comfortable working in a smoke-free home.
Comfortable around household pets, including a pet snake named Jinx.

Schedule

Monday through Friday

Guaranteed 20 hours per week

Typical schedule:

6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Some flexibility may be available for the ideal candidate.

Start Date: 07/27/26 (Flexible)

Travel

Occasional domestic travel may be available for candidates who are interested in accompanying the family. Travel is welcomed but is not a requirement of the position.

Compensation

$31,200–$41,600 gross annual compensation, depending upon experience, qualifications, and overall fit ($30.00–$40.00/hour).

Paid as a W-2 household employee.
