Full Job Description

Overview
We are a friendly, patient-focused, growing general dental Fee-for-Service (FFS) practice seeking a Dental Front Desk & Insurance Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both patient interaction and behind-the-scenes insurance and financial coordination. You’ll be a key part of creating a smooth, positive experience for our patients—from check-in to payment posting.

Requirements

Patient Co-ordination

Answer phones, schedule appointments, and confirm upcoming visits
Manage patient check-in and check-out
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Communicate clearly with doctors, assistants, and patients
Support recall and reactivation of patients

Insurance & Financial Coordination

Verify dental insurance benefits and eligibility
Explain insurance coverage and patient financial responsibility
Collect co-pays, deductibles, and patient payments at time of service
Submit dental insurance claims and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
Communicate with insurance companies regarding claims and discrepancies

Ledger & Payment Posting (Very Important)

Accurately post insurance payments and patient payments
Maintain and reconcile patient ledgers to ensure accuracy
Apply adjustments correctly and flag discrepancies for follow-up
Ensure all financial records are complete, accurate, and compliant

Qualifications

Dental front desk and/or insurance experience required
Strong understanding of dental insurance and billing workflows
Dentrix experience preferred
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
Comfortable multitasking in a busy dental office
Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude
