Who We Are

Willow Behavioral Health is a growing outpatient behavioral health program in Madison, Wisconsin, offering Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services for individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges. We are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and fostering long-term recovery through a compassionate and structured clinical environment.

Position Summary

Willow Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Therapist to join our clinical team in delivering PHP/IOP services for adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The ideal candidate is passionate about client care, well-versed in group therapy, and experienced in documentation and treatment planning aligned with ASAM criteria. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing program and help shape a high-impact therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Group Facilitation: Lead structured, evidence-based therapeutic groups for PHP and IOP clients.
Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment updates, and discharge summaries in compliance with state, federal, and insurance regulations.
Care Coordination: Collaborate with the clinical team, including medical staff and case managers, to ensure holistic and client-centered care.
Compliance & Chart Management: Ensure all clinical activities support medical necessity and meet payer and DHS 75 requirements.
Participation in Team Meetings: Attend weekly clinical team meetings, case conferences, and supervision sessions.

Group Facilitation Responsibilities

Lead structured, evidence-based therapeutic group sessions for PHP and IOP clients.
Facilitate engaging, clinically appropriate groups that promote participation, accountability, and peer support.
Manage group dynamics to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive therapeutic environment.
Monitor client participation and progress within the group setting and address barriers to engagement in real time.
Document group sessions accurately and timely in compliance with state, federal, and insurance requirements.
Collaborate with the clinical team to communicate observations, concerns, and client progress from group sessions.
Ensure all group services support medical necessity and align with program standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and supervision as needed to support client care and program effectiveness.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
Active clinical license in Wisconsin ; pre-licensed candidates may be considered with supervision
Experience working with adults in behavioral health or substance use treatment
Familiarity with ASAM criteria and documenting medical necessity
Skilled in writing progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in PHP, IOP, or residential settings
Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., KIPU or similar)
Knowledge of Wisconsin DHS 75 standards and payer documentation practices

Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour
