Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various living environments. This role involves assisting with daily activities, monitoring health and safety, and ensuring a comfortable, safe, and engaging environment for clients. The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy, and a proactive approach to caregiving, making a positive difference in the lives of those they serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to work closely with individuals requiring personalized care, fostering independence and well-being.

Duties

Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques
Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately in care plans
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
Administer medications following prescribed instructions while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy
Support clients with memory care needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care, utilizing specialized techniques for safety and engagement
Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning duties to promote a healthy environment
Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments, errands, or community activities while ensuring client safety during transfers and travel

Requirements

Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of distress or health deterioration
Experience with patient monitoring tools such as Hoyer lifts, vital signs measurement, or medication administration is desirable
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications like HIPAA compliance or hospice care are advantageous
Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's support, intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities support is a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual transfers using proper patient transfer methods
Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation in compliance with healthcare standards
Demonstrated understanding of home & community care practices along with experience supporting seniors or individuals with disabilities
Compassionate attitude combined with physical stamina to assist clients over extended periods
