Eligible candidates are hired into a Full or Part time position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires; per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months of separation from employment

Full Time (36hrs), Night Shift

The Maine Sleep Institute, the leading facility in the state providing comprehensive sleep care, is looking to add a new care team member!

What you’ll do:

Work with a dynamic team of certified sleep physicians, respiratory therapists, and fellow polysomnographers to diagnose and treat sleep and waking disorders in infants, children and adults.

Summary:

The Polysomnography Technologist I role is responsible for assisting in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies under the direct supervision of a credentialed technologist. This role supports patient preparation, equipment setup, data acquisition, and documentation while developing foundational competencies in sleep technology.

Knowledge Skills And Abilities:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Graduation from a Co-ARC accredited Electroencephalographic (EEG) diagnostics program, a CAAHEP-accredited Polysomnography program, or other healthcare-related educational program preferred.
License/Certifications: Must meet eligibility requirements and successfully obtain an advanced sleep-related credential within 12 months of hire— Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). Completion of a sleep technology training such as an AASM A-STEP program, or STAR-designated education program within 6 months of date of hire required. *Note: Individuals who obtain the CPSGT must achieve the RPSGT credential within 6 months following CPSGT certification. Current BLS Certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
Experience: No experience required. A minimum of six months of experience in a healthcare or direct patient care setting is preferred.
