Full Job Description

Sales, Estimating & Business Development

The Sales, Estimating & Business Development position is responsible for generating new business opportunities, preparing accurate project estimates, developing and maintaining customer relationships, and guiding clients through the sales process from initial inquiry through project completion.

This role serves as a primary point of contact for landscape construction and snow clients and works closely with operations personnel to ensure projects and service contracts are sold profitably, communicated clearly, and successfully transitioned into operations.

The position is also responsible for developing commercial and residential snow and ice management opportunities and assisting with the planning and management of assigned snow routes and accounts.

Sales and Customer Relations

Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve annual revenue and gross profit goals.
Build and maintain relationships with homeowners, builders, architects, landscape architects, property managers, commercial clients, and other referral partners.
Field new leads and serve as a primary customer contact for landscape construction and enhancement opportunities.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the sales and construction process, from lead generation through project closeout.
Identify customer needs, develop appropriate scopes of work, and present proposals and recommendations.
Resolve customer concerns and coordinate solutions with operations personnel.
Maintain the sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts.
Monitor market trends, customer preferences, competitors, and industry developments.
Participate in annual budgeting, sales planning, and strategic planning.
Work with the office and operations teams to ensure invoices are accurate, timely, and reflect all work completed.

Estimating and Preconstruction

Prepare estimates by gathering plans, specifications, and related documents; performing takeoffs; and determining required labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and production time.
Ensure estimates are prepared in accordance with company production rates, overhead recovery requirements, and target profit margins.
Develop proposals, contracts, budgets, and job planners using LMN and other company systems.
Review project plans and specifications to identify scope requirements, risks, exclusions, and potential changes before work begins.
Coordinate project startup and handoff meetings and transfer all necessary plans, specifications, budgets, schedules, and customer expectations to operations.
Prepare and present change orders resulting from scope revisions, customer requests, or unforeseen site conditions.
Assist with material and subcontractor procurement planning for upcoming projects.
Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and operations personnel regarding schedules, pricing, materials, and project requirements.

Business Development

Develop new business opportunities within the company's target residential and commercial markets.
Establish and strengthen relationships with builders, architects, landscape architects, property managers, facility managers, general contractors, and other industry partners.
Proactively identify prospective clients and projects that align with company capabilities and revenue goals.
Maintain regular contact with existing customers to identify additional construction, enhancement, maintenance, and snow opportunities.
Participate in networking, industry events, customer meetings, and other activities that support company growth.
Assist leadership with identifying new markets, service opportunities, and strategic accounts.
Track business development activity and opportunities within the company's CRM and sales systems.

Snow & Ice Sales and Route Management

Develop commercial and residential snow and ice management opportunities within the company's target service area.
Meet with prospective and existing snow customers to review sites, service expectations, scope requirements, and potential operational challenges.
Prepare snow and ice management estimates, proposals, contracts, renewals, and pricing recommendations.
Conduct preseason site reviews and document site conditions, service areas, snow storage locations, special requirements, and potential hazards.
Work with operations personnel to develop efficient and profitable snow routes based on geography, service levels, equipment requirements, and available personnel.
Assist with preseason route planning, customer setup, documentation, and communication.
Maintain responsibility for assigned snow routes and accounts during winter operations, including communication with customers and coordination with operations personnel.
Monitor route performance, customer satisfaction, service requirements, and profitability throughout the snow season.
Participate in post-storm and postseason reviews to identify operational improvements and pricing adjustments.

Skills Required

Five or more years of landscape construction, estimating, sales, project management, or related industry experience preferred.
Proven experience preparing project estimates and successfully calculating labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and project costs.
Strong understanding of landscape construction site work, processes, production methods, equipment, and installation practices.
Knowledge of snow and ice management operations, estimating, equipment, routing, and service requirements preferred.
Strong sales, customer service, relationship-building, and business development skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, coordination, planning, and time-management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and company leadership.
Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-management skills.
High level of self-motivation and ability to independently manage multiple opportunities and priorities.
Proficient in LMN, Microsoft Office, Adobe, and other company estimating, CRM, and project-management systems.
Interest in the continual pursuit of industry knowledge and professional development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
