Radius Recycling is seeking a hands-on Recycling Operations Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of our non-ferrous processing department in Auburn, Maine.

While recycling experience is a plus, we welcome candidates from manufacturing, industrial processing, logistics, construction materials, waste management, aggregates, metals, transportation, and other heavy industrial environments.

What You'll Do
- Lead a safety-first culture and ensure safe work practices.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company requirements.
- Conduct safety observations, training, and incident reviews.
- Partner with safety teams to reduce risk and improve performance.
- Hold employees and supervisors accountable for safety standards.
- Oversee daily receiving, processing, inventory, and shipping operations.
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline employees.
- Manage staffing, equipment, and production activities.
- Drive productivity, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Maintenance, Commercial, and Transportation teams to achieve operational goals.
- Support inventory accuracy, budgeting, and overall department performance.
Qualifications Required
- 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, recycling, metals, logistics, waste, aggregates, construction materials, industrial processing, or similar environments.
- Experience leading teams and driving employee performance.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Experience managing safety, productivity, and operational metrics.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Experience in metal recycling, scrap processing, or non-ferrous operations.
- Experience leading supervisors and hourly employees.
- Union environment experience.
- Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or process improvement experience.
