Full Job Description

Join our dedicated team at Capital Region Ambulatory Surgery Center, where we provide exceptional care to our patients and support a dynamic healthcare environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payment Posting and Billing Specialist to support our revenue cycle operations. In this role, you will play a key part in accurately posting payments, verifying patient and insurance date, and ensuring efficient billing processes. The ideal candidate will have healthcare billing experience, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to excellent patient and insurance communication.

Responsibilities:

Post payments from patients and charges accurately in our medical billing system
Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
Assist with billing appeals, accounts receivable follow-up and benefits verification
Identify payment trends and resolve billing discrepancies, including insurance denials
Support administrative tasks as assigned to ensure smooth billling operations
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical billing preferred
Minimum of two years of experience in medical payment posting, preferably in ambulatory surgery centers, hospitals or physician offices
Proficiency with electronic medical billing systems and Microsoft Office
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding basics
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
