Full Job Description

Overview
Northwestern Mutual is seeking an experienced financial advisor assistant to join our firm in the Fairfax, Virginia office. As a financial advisor assistant, you will work closely with an experienced financial advisor to help clients meet their financial goals and help grow the client base of the financial advisor.

The financial advisor assistant provides critical operational and administrative support to the financial advisor. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional who can manage complex workflows, maintain high levels of client confidentiality, and ensure the seamless execution of financial transactions and account maintenance.

Duties:

Serve as the primary point of contact for administrative inquiries
Support the financial advisor and team in onboarding new clients
Schedule and coordinate client reviews and prospective meetings
Liaise with home office staff and third-party vendors to resolve operational issue
Assist in developing tailored financial plans by analyzing clients’ current financial situations, including cash flow, investments, and liabilities
Conduct research on market trends, investment options, and financial products to recommend suitable strategies for clients
Utilize financial software to perform detailed financial analysis and portfolio management tasks
Maintain strong customer relationships through regular follow-ups and personalized service, ensuring client satisfaction and retention

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field is preferred
2+ years of experience in the financial services or wealth management industry is preferred
Prior customer relationship management experience within the financial industry is highly desirable
VA Life and Health license preferred / required within first 6 months of employment
Demonstrated ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive data with discretion
English and Korean speaking preferred but not required
