About the Role:

The Life Enrichment Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors residing in assisted living communities by designing and implementing engaging, meaningful activities tailored to their unique needs. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated professional who understands the challenges faced by memory-impaired seniors and is committed to fostering an environment that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being. The manager will collaborate closely with care staff, families, and residents to create personalized enrichment plans that encourage participation and improve overall satisfaction. By continuously learning new applications and techniques, the Life Enrichment Manager ensures that programming remains innovative and responsive to residents' evolving interests and abilities. Ultimately, this role is essential in creating a vibrant community atmosphere where seniors feel valued, supported, and motivated to engage fully in daily life.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience working with seniors, particularly in assisted living or similar care environments.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with memory-impaired seniors and adapt activities accordingly.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow through on assigned tasks and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to encourage and engage residents and collaborate with team members.
Basic proficiency in learning and utilizing new applications or technology relevant to activity planning and resident engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or training in recreational therapy, gerontology, or a related field.
Experience facilitating small group presentations or leading group activities in a senior care setting.
Familiarity with specialized programs or software designed for memory care or senior enrichment.
Demonstrated desire to serve and care for seniors beyond basic job requirements, showing empathy and patience.
Previous supervisory or managerial experience within an assisted living or senior care environment.

Responsibilities:

Develop, coordinate, and implement a diverse range of activities and programs that cater to the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of seniors, including those with memory impairments.
Facilitate small group presentations and social events that encourage resident participation and foster community engagement.
Work closely with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to assess individual interests and abilities, tailoring activities to maximize involvement and enjoyment.
Demonstrate good judgment in managing resources, scheduling, and responding to residents’ needs while ensuring safety and compliance with assisted living regulations.
Follow through on assigned tasks and administrative duties such as maintaining activity records, reporting outcomes, and managing supplies and budgets related to enrichment programming.

Skills:

The Life Enrichment Manager uses their skills daily to create and adapt activities that meet the diverse needs of seniors, especially those with memory impairments, ensuring inclusivity and engagement. Learning new applications allows the manager to incorporate innovative tools and resources that enhance program delivery and resident interaction. Demonstrating good judgment is critical when assessing residents’ capabilities and safety, as well as when managing resources and scheduling. Encouraging residents requires strong interpersonal skills and empathy to motivate participation and foster a supportive community atmosphere.
