Dean Cabinetry is a growing family-owned cabinetry manufacturer and distributor in Manchester, CT. We design, build, deliver, and install custom cabinetry throughout the region.
We are looking for a Cabinet Install Apprentice who wants to learn the entire cabinet business from the ground up and build a long-term career in cabinet installation at a world class level.
This is not a typical entry-level shop job.
Our apprenticeship is designed to give you experience in every part of the cabinet process before you become an installer. You'll work alongside experienced people in our shop, learn how cabinets are built and finished, participate in deliveries and measures, and eventually begin installing cabinets in customers' homes alongside experienced installers.
Over time, the goal is to develop you into a highly skilled cabinet installer with the opportunity to eventually operate as an independent installation subcontractor for Dean Cabinetry.
What the Apprenticeship Looks Like
During your first 6–12 months, you'll rotate through our operation and learn how a cabinet goes from raw material to a finished installation.
You'll gain hands-on experience in:
- Receiving and inspecting cabinet materials and shipments
- CNC production and cabinet part manufacturing
- Woodworking and machining
- Cabinet assembly
- Cabinet dressing and preparation
- Finishing, including spraying and hand application of stains and finishes
- Quality control and punch-list work
- Warehouse and delivery operations
- Reading cabinet plans and installation drawings
- Measuring homes for upcoming projects
- Cabinet and trim installation
- Customer interaction and job-site expectations
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll remain an hourly employee of Dean Cabinetry while you develop skills through experience, acquire tools, vehicle, and fulfill other requirements necessary to work as an independent installation subcontractor.

A background in carpentry, construction, cabinetry, woodworking, remodeling, manufacturing, or another skilled trade is a plus, but it is not required.
