CMM Programmer – MCOSMOS Experience

Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing organization supporting advanced aerospace, defense, and space programs. They manufacture complex, high-precision hardware for demanding, mission-critical applications and are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer – MCOSMOS Experience to join their Quality team.

This is an opportunity to work with complex aerospace components in a technically challenging precision manufacturing environment.
Role OverviewThe CMM Programmer – MCOSMOS Experience will develop, prove out, and support CMM inspection programs for critical aerospace components, working closely with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams.

Support both New Product Introduction (NPI) and daily production requirements
Ensure accurate dimensional inspection and reliable data collection
Hands-on MCOSMOS programming experience is required
Calypso and/or Modus experience is highly desirable

Key Responsibilities

Develop, modify, and prove out CMM programs for Mitutoyo, Zeiss, and Metris CMMs
Set up and validate programs using fixtures, CAD models, work instructions, and inspection requirements
Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, aerospace tolerances, and customer specifications
Review inspection results, identify nonconformances, and support troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Maintain CMM programs, inspection documentation, and quality records
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to resolve measurement challenges and improve inspection flow
Perform validation and calibration checks to maintain CMM accuracy and reliability
Train and support inspection personnel on CMM operation, part setup, and developed programs

Candidate Profile

Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-directed and comfortable working with minimal supervision
Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively across engineering and manufacturing teams
Quality-focused with a disciplined approach to dimensional inspection and documentation

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

3–5 years of hands-on CMM programming experience in a manufacturing environment
MCOSMOS programming experience required
Calypso and/or Modus programming experience highly desirable
Strong knowledge of CMM setup, operation, programming, and measurement interpretation
Proficient in reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T
Experience inspecting tight-tolerance precision components
Ability to use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other manual inspection equipment
Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred

Education & Qualifications

Technical education or training in Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Metrology, or a related discipline advantageous
Equivalent hands-on CMM programming and precision inspection experience considered
Aerospace, defense, or other regulated precision manufacturing experience highly desirable
