Peter DeSalvo Contracting Hudson, New Hampshire | Full-time, on-site with regular field work $45,000 base plus performance bonus | Target first-year earnings $67,500 | Upside to $80,000
About us
Peter DeSalvo Contracting has been roofing southern New Hampshire and the Massachusetts border towns for eighteen years. We are a CertainTeed Premier Shingle Master contractor, Elevate certified, and Velux certified. We hold an unrestricted construction supervisor license and a Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license, which most New Hampshire contractors do not.
We have a production team, a sales team, and a management bench. What we do not have is one person who owns how this community experiences us, before the job, during it, and long after the last shingle goes on.
That is this job. You would be responsible for making a difference in the community.
What you'll do
Post every day. Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram. You decide what goes out and when. Consistency matters more than polish, and this is the part that compounds.
Get the reviews. Every customer we finish gets their photos sent to them, then an ask for a review with those photos attached. Two to three new reviews a week, every week. You will track everyone.
Get on the roofs. Two site visits a week, minimum. Before, during, after. Talk to the crews. Pull the story out of the job, whether it is the surprise rot under the old layer, the tricky valley, or the 24-hour turnaround for the family with a newborn. Nothing else works if this does not happen.
Work the community groups. Every weekday, sweep the local Facebook groups, Nextdoor, and town forums for people asking about roofing, storm damage, leaks, gutters, and skylights. Log every opportunity and push it to the team so we get named and recommended by real people. You will do this as yourself, openly, always disclosing that you work here.
Follow up after every job. A call, a note, a small delivery to the door. Same day. This is the part most contractors skip, and it is the reason people tell their neighbors about us.
Once all the above is running well, the job grows into local events, the Hudson Chamber of Commerce, and a seat in the weekly sales meeting.
What a strong week looks like
You will know exactly where you stand. Every Monday, five questions:
- Did we post? Five or more posts across social, with the Google profile updated at least every other day.
- Did we get reviews? Three new reviews with photos.
- Did we shoot the jobs? Two site visits, forty or more usable photos and videos.
- Did we get tagged? Five daily group sweeps, and eight or more times someone named us in a thread.
- Did we follow up? Every job we finished that week, touched and logged.
No quarterly mystery, no annual review surprise. Five numbers, once a week.
Who this is for
- You would rather be at a job site at 7 a.m. than at a meeting at 10
- You are comfortable talking to strangers, whether that is a homeowner at their front door, a crew on a roof, or a Facebook group admin
- You can run a daily routine without anyone checking on you
- You write like a person, not like a brochure
- You want a job where the results are visible and yours
Helpful but not required: short-form video editing, growing a social following even if it was your own, or past work in the trades, hospitality, retail, or anything else that puts you in front of customers.
We are open to recent graduates and to people a few years into their careers. If you have never had a marketing title but you have run a page, organized events, or worked a job where people asked for you by name, apply.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle. You will be in the field two to three days a week. Mileage is reimbursed.
- Comfortable being on camera
- Available for occasional evenings and weekends once the events calendar starts
Compensation and benefits
- $45,000 base salary
- Weekly bonus tied to the five questions above
- Monthly bonus tied to reviews generated and appointments produced through your work
- Target first-year earnings of $67,500, with a plan that pays up to $80,000 for a strong year
- Guaranteed bonus minimum for your first three months while you get up to speed
- Mileage reimbursement
- Company phone allowance and content budget
Why take this job
You will report directly to the owner and have real access to him. You will have a defined budget, an outside marketing agency partner behind you, and no one telling you what to post.
Most importantly, you will not be guessing whether you are doing well. Five numbers, checked every Monday, and a bonus attached to them.
This is the front half of a marketing career, not a job posting to social media on someone else's schedule.
How to apply
Send a résumé and a short note telling us about one thing you have done, run, organized, or grown. It does not have to be professional. A club, an event, an account, a side project, or a job where you fixed something nobody asked you to fix all count.
Finalists will be asked to spend thirty minutes on a live exercise: we will give you three local Facebook groups and ask you to find five real opportunities and draft what you would post. If that sounds like a good time rather than a chore, you are probably the person we are looking for.
Peter DeSalvo Contracting is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
