Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Mechanic to join our dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and repairing water transportation equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of marine systems and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep vessels operating efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art marine technology in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on marine vessels and water transportation equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Diagnose electrical issues utilizing schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
Repair mechanical systems including engines, propulsion units, rigging, sheet metal components, and welding tasks with precision.
Maintain ship electrical systems by troubleshooting electrical faults, soldering connections, and ensuring proper assembly of electrical components.
Conduct heavy lifting and fabrication tasks involving the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), welding equipment, calipers, soldering irons, and other specialized tools.
Follow safety protocols related to maintenance, repair operations (MRO), and the use of PPE to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Collaborate with team members on assembly projects, ship electrical system upgrades, and fabrication tasks to enhance vessel performance.
Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, schematics followed, and diagnostic findings for compliance and future reference.

Qualifications

Proven service technician experience with mechanical systems repair and electrical diagnostics in marine or vehicle maintenance settings.
Strong knowledge of schematics interpretation, engineering troubleshooting methods, and electrical system maintenance.
Experience with rigging, welding (including sheet metal work), soldering, fabrication, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
Familiarity with water transportation equipment maintenance including diesel mechanics and ship electrical systems.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to PPE guidelines; comfortable working in physically demanding environments.
Knowledge of maintenance, repair operations (MRO), and the use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters.
Military background or experience is a plus due to familiarity with rigorous safety standards and technical training.
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders about maintenance activities.
