DIRECTOR OF SALES, HILTON GARDEN INN MANCHESTER DOWNTOWN

Overview:
This is an opportunity to lead the sales effort at a Focus Service Hilton Garden Inn to achieve revenue objectives. The Hilton Garden Inn Manchester Downtown offers year-round meeting space that opens seasonally to The Patio, our outdoor restaurant overlooking Delta Stadium, giving this property a unique advantage in generating both meeting and event revenue.

Purpose of the Position:
To provide the expertise, drive, and entrepreneurial spirit to maximize the revenue performance of the property through the successful implementation and execution of a targeted sales effort.

Location: Manchester, NH

Position Summary:
The candidate will contribute to the profitability of the Company by effectively developing, managing, and executing the sales process at the Hilton Garden Inn Manchester Downtown. The ideal candidate has sales management experience, with knowledge and training in revenue management tools used by Hilton. The candidate must have the ability to develop both short and long-term selling strategies. The candidate has a strong track record of exceeding sales targets and leading the market in RevPAR. In addition, the candidate must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, exhibit an urgency to get things done and demonstrate outstanding leadership and drive.

Responsibilities:

Exceed room revenue targets by month and year and have room revenue market growth that exceeds comp set RevPAR performance.
Work with the Company Director of Sales to develop the room revenue sales plans by market segment and the development of the marketing plan and budgets to support achieving revenue goals.
Close on new business to meet the revenue objectives.
Lead the Hilton Garden Inn sales process and ensure the processes are in place to exceed revenue targets.
Drive bookings for the property's year-round meeting space and, seasonally, The Patio, our outdoor restaurant overlooking Delta Stadium, positioning both as a point of differentiation for social and corporate gatherings.
Monitor and report monthly on sales objectives as outlined in the annual business plans.
Targeting accounts for short and long-term selling strategies.
Lead, train, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team goals.
Establish and maintain relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and event planners to generate business for the hotel.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities and threats.
Prepare and present regular sales reports to the management team, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
Work with Director of Revenue Management to ensure that revenue management strategies are in place to maximize RevPAR at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Key Skills and Attributes:

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor every day.
Requirements include having a minimum of 3 years of hotel experience as a Director of Sales with a high-quality branded hotel.
Must have proven skills in revenue management and a strong understanding of all electronic distribution channels.
Competent with the execution of the brand RFP Process.
Must have a verifiable record of strong community involvement.
Must have experience in overseeing the development and presentation of a yearly sales plan as part of the overall business plan, to include the guest rooms and meeting room top line revenue.
Must be able to provide concrete examples of past performance that exceeded plan objectives.
Trained in professional sales process selling techniques and able to coach individuals and teams to be successful.
Possess the qualifications, and provide backup references of having managed the sales effort for focus service and/or boutique independent hotels that achieved a superior RevPAR.

Expertise/Knowledge Required:

Requirements include a minimum of 3 years in a Limited or Focus Service Hotel, as a Director of Sales and Marketing
Windows XP or newer, Word, Excel, and Outlook. *
Working Knowledge and use of Hilton OnQ PMS, R&I Micros and SalesPro*
