Our Vision

Media Power Youth envisions a world where young people are confident, compassionate, and engaged with their communities. As a health-focused nonprofit, we help youth navigate a media-driven world by addressing critical issues like mental health, substance misuse prevention, and social-emotional needs. We tackle these topics creatively by providing self-paced resources, school curricula, and experiential learning opportunities from documentary filmmaking to our Youth Advisory Board.

About the Role

Media Power Youth is a growing organization dedicated to empowering the next generation. We are seeking a full-time Program & Community Engagement Manager to serve as a key partner to the Executive Director. We are looking for a professional who is energized by the challenge of turning a vision into a reality and who thrives in a creative, lean, and dynamic environment. You will bridge the gap between our mission and the community, ensuring our resources reach the educators, parents, and youth who need them most.

Areas of Impact

Educational Outreach & Adoption (40%): You will act as a primary liaison for schools and community partners across New Hampshire. Your goal is to move beyond program awareness to helping partners integrate our media literacy and health modules into their existing programs.
Resource Curation & Content Creation (40%): You will lead the development of "snackable" resources for our digital hub. This includes researching topics and using innovative tools (including AI) to refine these insights so that complex information about media and well-being are accessible to kids and parents.
Youth Facilitation & Community Presence (20%): You will represent MPY in communities across the state. This includes tabling at events, facilitating youth workshops, and actively participating in community discussions about meaningful (and sometimes challenging) topics.

Relationship Builder: You are a person who enjoys meeting new people and is comfortable traveling around the state to build long-term relationships with youth-centered organizations.
Community Mindset: You possess a natural inclination toward mentorship and believe that providing the right tools to educators and parents can transform a young person’s trajectory. A background in volunteering or community service is highly valued.
Creative Writer: You can take raw research or a vague idea and turn it into an interesting, student-friendly resource or a compelling pitch to a school principal.
Resilient and Adaptable: You are comfortable discussing sensitive health topics and can pivot easily from high-level strategy to the practical logistics of organizing a successful community event.

Requirements & Logistics

Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in education, nonprofit management, or communications.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in productivity tools (Google Suite, Microsoft Office) and experience in using design software (Canva, Adobe) and AI tools (Gemini) to enhance content creation.
Reliability: Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for statewide travel.
Schedule: Standard business hours with the flexibility to work 2 to 3 late afternoon/evenings per month for community events. Occasionally, we do attend a weekend festival or community celebration (2-3 times a year).
Location & Flexibility: We value impact over desk time. This is a hybrid role (typically 3 days in-office or in-community and 2 days remote) following a successful onboarding period.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
