Perfect Fit Medical Supply is seeking an experienced DME Orthotic Fitter to join our team.
This is a full-time, patient-facing position based out of our Manchester, New Jersey location. The position involves travel throughout New Jersey to provide DME and orthotic fittings in physician offices, hospitals, healthcare facilities, patients' homes, and our Manchester location.
We are looking for someone with previous DME, orthopedic bracing, orthotic fitting, or related patient-fitting experience who is dependable, professional, comfortable working independently, and enjoys working directly with patients and healthcare professionals.
What You'll Do
- Measure and fit patients for prescribed prefabricated/off-the-shelf orthopedic braces and DME products
- Properly size and apply prescribed products according to the patient's order and manufacturer guidelines
- Make fitting adjustments to prefabricated products as appropriate and within the fitter's permitted scope
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper application, use, care, and maintenance of their equipment
- Provide fitting services in physician offices, hospitals, healthcare facilities, patients' homes, and our Manchester location
- Travel throughout New Jersey based on patient and provider needs
- Communicate professionally with physicians, nurses, medical office staff, patients, and caregivers
- Manage assigned patient appointments and fitting schedules
- Provide follow-up fittings and product checks when appropriate
- Coordinate equipment pickups and returns as necessary
- Complete required patient and fitting documentation accurately and promptly
- Communicate with our office regarding scheduling, equipment, patient needs, and follow-up
- Follow applicable patient-care, infection-control, safety, documentation, and company procedures
- Recognize when a patient's needs fall outside the fitter's permitted scope and refer or escalate appropriately
- Represent Perfect Fit Medical Supply professionally in all patient and provider interactions
What We're Looking For
- Previous DME, orthopedic bracing, orthotic fitting, or related experience required
- Previous experience working directly with patients
- Experience measuring and fitting patients for prefabricated orthopedic braces and/or other DME
- Familiarity with proper sizing, application, and patient instruction for orthopedic bracing
- Professional and comfortable working in physician offices, hospitals, healthcare facilities, and patients' homes
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a field-based schedule
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout New Jersey
- Ability to transport and handle DME and orthopedic products as required
No College Degree Required
We value hands-on DME and orthotic fitting experience, patient-care skills, professionalism, and dependability. A college degree is not required for this position.
Scope of the Position
This position focuses on fitting and educating patients on prefabricated/off-the-shelf orthopedic braces and DME products within the fitter's permitted scope.
This position does not involve the fabrication or customization of orthoses or other services that require a licensed orthotist. When a patient's needs fall outside the fitter's permitted scope, the patient will be referred to the appropriate licensed professional.
About the Role
This is not strictly an in-store position. A significant part of the job involves working independently in the field.
Depending on the schedule, you may provide fittings at a physician's office or hospital, visit patients in their homes, or see patients at our Manchester location.
Because you will often represent Perfect Fit Medical Supply independently in front of patients and healthcare providers, professionalism, reliability, communication, and time management are extremely important.

Candidates with significant hands-on DME and orthopedic bracing experience may be considered based on their level of experience and qualifications.
