Job Summary
One Egg Group is looking for a hands-on, hospitality-minded People Operations & Employee Experience Leader to help lead our HR function and advance our workplace experience vision: building “The Best Gig on the Block.”
This is a flexible-level role that may be hired as either a People Operations & Employee Experience Manager or Director of People Operations & Employee Experience, depending on experience. The position supports approximately 200+ employees across multiple restaurant concepts in Manhattan, Kansas.
The right person will be comfortable balancing day-to-day HR operations — including ADP Workforce Now, payroll, onboarding support, benefits, employee relations, compliance, policy administration, and manager guidance — with strategic culture work such as employee recognition, retention, training, surveys, manager development, and leadership communication.
This is not a back-office HR role. We are looking for someone who will be visible in our restaurants, connected to our managers, trusted by our teams, and engaged with leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Execute and/or oversee core HR operations across One Egg Group.
- Serve as a key ADP Workforce Now practitioner.
- Support payroll processing, HRIS data integrity, onboarding and e-I-9 completion tracking, employee changes, and separations.
- Coach managers through employee relations, documentation, corrective action, performance, attendance, and termination processes.
- Maintain and update HR policies, handbook language, and employee communications.
- Administer or support benefits, workers’ compensation, leaves of absence, and compliance-related processes.
- Prepare recurring reports, including turnover and work anniversary reporting.
- Coordinate employee recognition efforts, anniversary gifts, and “Best Gig” employee initiatives.
- Support employee survey preparation, tracking, follow-up, and action planning.
- Help develop and deliver biannual HR training.
- Participate in leadership meetings, manager meetings, and regular 1:1s with company leaders.
- Partner with the President, CFAO, and General Managers to improve employee experience, manager effectiveness, retention, and workplace culture.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in HR, people operations, hospitality leadership, restaurant operations, or a related field.
- Strong employee relations, communication, and manager-coaching skills.
- Comfortable supporting both frontline hourly employees and senior leadership.
- Experience with payroll, HRIS, employee records, benefits, and HR administration.
- Strong knowledge of employment & labor law and HR compliance standards.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and follow through in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
- Comfort presenting to groups and facilitating training or meetings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 / Office programs.
- Willingness to be physically present across One Egg Group locations in Manhattan, Kansas.
Preferred Experience
- Restaurant, hospitality, retail, or multi-unit workforce experience.
- ADP Workforce Now experience.
- Payroll processing experience.
- Benefits administration experience.
- Experience with onboarding, I-9s, employee changes, terminations, or digital HR workflows.
- Experience writing policies, employee communications, handbook updates, or training materials.
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Prior manager coaching, leadership development, or employee engagement experience.
