Full Job Description

Katie’s Way provides compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health services with a strong commitment to collaborative, team-based care. We serve children, adolescents, adults, military service members, veterans, and their families across our growing network of behavioral health clinics.

Our Manhattan and Junction City locations serve communities with strong military ties, including service members and families connected to Fort Riley. We are committed to providing accessible, high-quality psychiatric care in a supportive outpatient environment.

Position Summary

Katie’s Way is seeking a part-time Psychiatrist (MD or DO) to join our clinical team serving our Manhattan and Junction City, Kansas locations.

The Psychiatrist will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management while working collaboratively with psychiatric nurse practitioners, therapists, clinical support staff, and organizational leadership.

We are looking for a psychiatrist who values collaboration, clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
Diagnose and treat a broad range of behavioral and mental health conditions.
Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications.
Monitor patient response to treatment and make appropriate adjustments to the treatment plan.
Collaborate with therapists, psychiatric providers, primary care providers, and other members of the patient's care team.
Provide clinical consultation and guidance when appropriate.
Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
Follow applicable federal and state laws, professional standards, HIPAA requirements, and Katie’s Way policies and procedures.
Participate in care coordination and clinical discussions as needed.
Promote a professional, respectful, collaborative, and patient-focused clinical environment.

Qualifications

Required:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
Current or eligibility for an unrestricted Kansas medical license.
Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain DEA registration.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Ability to prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with applicable federal and Kansas requirements.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to collaborative and evidence-based behavioral healthcare.

Preferred:

Board certification in Psychiatry.
Experience in outpatient behavioral health.
Experience treating military service members, veterans, and/or military families.
Experience treating conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and other common psychiatric conditions.
Experience working within an interdisciplinary behavioral health team.
Familiarity with TRICARE and military-connected patient populations.

Schedule

This is a part-time position. Specific days and hours may be discussed based on organizational needs and candidate availability.

The position will support Katie’s Way services in Manhattan and Junction City, Kansas.
