The practice specializes in sports medicine, total joint replacements, rehabilitation, general orthopaedics, foot and ankle, hand, wrist, knee, and shoulder surgery. We maintain a state-of-the-art surgical centers located in Fair Lawn, Mahwah, Iselin, Clifton, and Paramus.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Workers’ Compensation Associate supports the coordination and documentation of Workers’ Compensation cases to ensure patient visits, medical records, and communications with external stakeholders occur accurately and on time.
This role ensures that providers, nurse case managers, adjusters, and attorneys receive the information required to move cases forward while maintaining accurate documentation within the practice.
Associates are expected to work collaboratively as part of the Workers’ Compensation team and support department operations when needed.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in Case Coordination, Legal and Administrative Support, Strong Customer Communication acumen, and ability to multi-task with high efficiency.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Case Coordination
- Support day-to-day coordination of Workers’ Compensation cases
- Track and follow up on Workers’ Compensation authorizations
- Assist with appointment scheduling related to Workers’ Compensation cases
- Monitor status of cases and ensure documentation is completed
Communication
- Serve as point of contact for:
- Patients
- Nurse Case Managers
- Insurance Adjusters
- Attorneys
- Provide timely updates regarding appointments and documentation
- Respond to inquiries professionally and escalate issues when appropriate
Documentation and Records
- Ensure medical records are available before patient visits
- Track progress notes and documentation completion
- Obtain outside medical reports when needed
- Enter accurate documentation including “quick notes”
Legal and Administrative Support
- Assist with narrative reports when requested
- Coordinate deposition scheduling when assigned
- Track Workers' Compensation documentation requests
Department Support
Workers’ Compensation Associates are expected to be collaborative and team player, supporting team members as needed, including
- Assisting with answering department phones when call volume is high
- Supporting coworkers when workload levels fluctuate
- Assisting with quick notes or documentation when the department is short staffed
REQUIREMENTS
Associates are expected to:
- Fluent in Spanish
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with coworkers and external stakeholders
- Work collaboratively as part of a team rather than working in isolation
- Assist coworkers when the department is busy
- Support phone coverage when needed
- Maintain focus on assigned work responsibilities during the workday
- Take breaks appropriately and avoid excessive time away from work areas
- Demonstrate accountability, reliability, and a willingness to support department goals
- Address conflict directly with individual
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
