Full Job Description

Doorman (32BJ Union)Position Summary

We are seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Doorman to join our residential team. This is a 32BJ SEIU union position. The Doorman serves as the first point of contact for residents, guests, and vendors and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while maintaining the smooth day-to-day operation of the building's lobby and entrance.

Essential Responsibilities

Welcome residents, guests, visitors, and vendors in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner.
Provide outstanding customer service and respond to resident requests promptly and respectfully.
Monitor the building entrance and lobby and notify management of any unusual or unauthorized activity.
Receive, log, and distribute packages using the BuildingLink system.
Maintain accurate package and visitor records.
Answer telephones and assist residents with general inquiries.
Assist with resident move-ins, move-outs, and deliveries in accordance with building procedures.
Coordinate with management, porters, superintendents, and other building staff to ensure efficient operations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby area.
Follow all building policies, safety procedures, and established operating procedures.
Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a residential doorman, concierge, front desk attendant, or in hospitality/customer service is preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including experience with or the ability to learn BuildingLink.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Must be respectful, courteous, and committed to providing excellent service to residents and guests.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a 32BJ SEIU union position. Wages, benefits, scheduling, and other terms and conditions of employment are governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
