Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a PM Custodian for the Manitowoc Public School District at Lincoln High School. The 2nd Shift Custodian keeps the district's buildings and grounds in a state of operating excellence so as to ensure the quality of the educational program. This position provides leadership, assistance and oversight to the cleanliness and maintenance of both the interior and exterior of the educational facility and campus. The 2nd Shift Custodian will enjoy interacting with our students, staff and stakeholders to promote a positive learning experience. This is a second shift position during the school year with periodic morning hours as needs arise. The 2nd Shift Custodian works 1st shift, Monday through Friday when school is not in session. Occasional weekends are required to ensure the operational objectives of providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment is maintained for all community members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Provide organization skills necessary to facilitate the cleaning and maintenance of all essential building systems.
● Ability to perform all routine custodial cleaning duties, to include but not limited to, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing, disinfection of surfaces and vacuuming of floors.
● Clear snow and de-ice sidewalks as needed to maintain them in a safe condition.
● Set up, rearrange, and tear down furniture and bleachers for all district and public events.
● Perform annual summer maintenance and cleaning of district rooms.
● Ability to use a computer and programs, i.e. Word, Excel, E-Mail and AESOP.
● Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
● Ability to adjust to district needs as applicable, including weather related, building or other district events.
● Ability to pay attention to cleaning quality,
● Attend classes, seminars, webinars as needed to stay proficient in building operations.
● Act as a representative of the school district and work politely and tactfully with the public, community groups, students, parents and other employees.
● Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment in a positive manner.
● Other duties may be required or assigned.

Desired Qualifications:
● Able to effectively communicate operational needs, concerns and procedures to stakeholders.
● Coordinate maintenance activities, work cooperatively; responsible for the ordering of materials and supplies for maintenance of entire facility.
● Detailed knowledge of state health regulation standards.
● First Aid and CPR certification.

Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience:
Previous custodial experience, 1-3 years preferred.
High School diploma required.
