***Position will function as a security guard***
This is an 11-month temporary position. It is classified as temporary/part-time and does not include state benefits. Weekend, evening, and holiday work will be required. Recommended applicant will be subject to a background check.
Description of Work:
Greeter/security position requires excellent customer service and will have constant interaction with the public including school groups, families, and children. This position will also be responsible for patrolling aquarium grounds, opening and closing the aquarium, and completing safety checks during operating hours as well as during special events in the evenings. Holiday and weekend work required.
Job Requirements:
This position may require work in hot, humid, wet and outdoor conditions. This position may require lifting heavy items (approximately 50 pounds), climbing ladders, and bending up and down. This position will require weekend, evening, and holiday work, Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license. A North Carolina driver’s license is preferred within the first two months of working but is not required.
Management Preferences:
· Customer service experience.
· Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time in all types of weather.
· Must have a valid NC Driver’s License or the ability to obtain for employment
· CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within three months of employment
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require the ability to complete emergency medical technician (EMT) training and meet re-certification standards as required.
