Full Job Description

PolyCharge America - Pioneering the development and production of high energy density, high temperature, capacitor products.

We are looking for a part-time Mechanical Designer with experience in industrial equipment and processes, ability to take a concept or pilot production equipment and scale to large production is ideal.

Basic Duties

Set up sheets, title blocks, notes and details as an overall part of a drawing package
Add annotation and dimensions to plot plans, details, and schematics
Plot drawings to PDF for review
Modify drawings as directed by Design Coordinator, Engineer or Designer
Assemble, maintain, and communicate base file structure within a project
Develop high quality accurate drafting projects in a timely manner
Work independently on assigned projects
Check tolerances, dimensions, and feasibility of designs and work with team to resolve problems.
Advise Program Manager of lead times for project materials and ensures materials or their replacements conform with project plans and specifications

· Follow controlled processes for each phase of the program and identify areas of improvement

· Maintain and organize project files, such as plans, specifications, schedules and design changes

· Collaborate with Quality to ensure they have the proper project documentation for QC testing and Inspections

· Collaborate with Production Operators and contribute hands-on to optimize process and complete Work Instruction details

An ideal candidate will have the following skills:

0-2 years of SolidWorks related experience or industry experience preferred
Associate degree or completion of related technical school courses or equivalent experience preferred
Ability to understand instructions and independently carry out assigned tasks
Must be comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation
Detail and quality oriented
Strong communication and customer skills

Language Skills:

Must be able to speak, read and write English in an effective manner. Must have ability to read, analyze and interpret technical drawings and procedures. Must be able to effectively present oral information and respond to questions from managers and other employees.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear and sit. The employee must be able to stand, and walk for extended periods of time. The employee is also occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Good eyesight with or without correction is required as well as good hand coordination.

Work Environment:

The employee will be working around moving mechanical parts and machines. The employee will learn the proper procedures for storing and transporting chemicals, some of which may be considered hazardous and also learn the proper procedures for working with electrical equipment to reduce the risk of electrical shock.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
