Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer - In Training to join our dynamic engineering team. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in civil infrastructure projects, construction management, and technical engineering. As a Civil Engineer - In Training, you will support project planning, design, and inspection activities while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a collaborative environment. This paid position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to grow their expertise and contribute to impactful infrastructure projects.

Duties

Assist in project scheduling, tracking progress, and coordinating timelines to ensure on-time delivery of civil engineering projects
Support design engineering efforts using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and MicroStation to prepare schematics, drawings, and technical reports
Contribute to construction management activities including site inspections, quality assurance, and safety compliance during the permitting and construction phases
Utilize GIS and ArcGIS tools for spatial analysis, land surveying data integration, and hydrological modeling of stormwater systems
Prepare technical engineering reports related to hydrologic analysis, stormwater management, geotechnical assessments, and water/wastewater treatment systems
Collaborate with project managers and clients through effective communication on project status, technical issues, and permitting requirements
Support project engineering tasks such as system design for stormwater systems, hydraulics calculations, and land development schematics

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program
Demonstrated knowledge of civil engineering principles including hydraulics, hydrologic analysis tools, geotechnical engineering, and system design
Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit or similar drafting tools
Experience with project scheduling software and construction estimating techniques is a plus
Strong technical writing skills for generating reports and documentation
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
