Unit Manager - Registered Nurse

Location: Atlanta, GA, 30314

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Unit Manager - Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team at Sadie G. Mays in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily operations of the unit, ensuring high-quality care and excellent customer service for all residents, visitors, peers, and vendors. This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Make routine rounds to assess residents’ needs and monitor changes in their status.
Update Resident Care Plans as needed to reflect current health conditions and care requirements.
Review and investigate incident reports, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
Engage with resident families to address concerns and resolve issues promptly and compassionately.
Ensure all unit staff provide quality delivery of care and maintain a high level of customer service.
Provide mentoring, guidance, and teaching to staff members as necessary to promote professional development and quality care.
Assist with new admissions, ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition for residents.
Collaborate closely with Nursing Administration to coordinate care and unit operations.
Participate in medication pass when needed to support nursing staff and ensure resident safety.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory nursing role preferred.
Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mentor and guide nursing staff effectively.
Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.
