Full Job Description

Ophthalmic Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery (OPCS)

Important – Please Read Before Applying

This position requires previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office.
Experience with athenaOne is strongly preferred and will be given priority during the hiring process.

If you enjoy constant supervision, this position is probably not the right fit. We are looking for a self-starter who is comfortable working independently within clearly established protocols after training.

At Ophthalmic Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery (OPCS), we've built our reputation on exceptional patient care, organization, efficiency, and teamwork. As our Joint Commission-accredited surgical practice continues to grow with additional surgeons and a second surgical suite, we're looking for another outstanding Medical Assistant to join our team.

Our patients frequently tell us how seamless their experience feels from consultation through recovery. That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because every member of our team takes ownership of their role.

Our Training Philosophy

You will receive thorough training. After training, you're expected to reference our SOPs before asking questions. They exist so everyone performs tasks consistently, efficiently, and safely.

We're looking for someone who enjoys becoming an expert at their job rather than relying on constant direction.

Responsibilities Clinical

Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
Obtain medical histories and verify medications
Record vital signs
Perform visual acuity testing and tonometry
Assist providers during examinations and office procedures
Educate patients regarding procedures and post-visit instructions
Maintain accurate documentation in athenaOne
Assist with patient flow and room turnover

Surgery

Circulate during office-based surgical procedures
Complete perioperative documentation
Assist with sterile processing and instrument reprocessing
Perform operating room turnover
Follow Joint Commission standards
Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention protocols
Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and management throughout surgical days

Medical Assistant experience

Cosmetic plastic surgery experience

Reliable transportation
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
