POSITION SUMMARY
The Lafayette hosts momentous occasions — weddings, corporate meetings, private celebrations, and community functions that matter deeply to our guests and clients. Event Attendants are central to delivering those moments. This role requires professionalism, thoughtfulness, precision in service execution, and the ability to work as part of a coordinated team under a leader's direction. Consistent availability and attendance is essential.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set event space according to the Event Order and leader's direction
- Polish glassware, silverware, and china; maintain high presentation standards throughout events
- Serve plated meals, maintain buffets, and present reception items with timing and coordination
- Provide professional beverage service including beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic options
- Respond to guest requests and needs during events promptly and courteously
- Break down event spaces, clean linens, and return equipment to storage after events
- Communicate any service issues or guest concerns to the banquet captain
- Assist with food preparation, garnishing, or buffet replenishment as directed
- Follow all alcohol service policies and TIPS/RBS guidelines
- Obtain knowledge of event menu and be prepared to answer guest questions
- Arrive on time, in proper uniform, for pre-event briefings
- Execute set-up and breakdown
REQUIREMENT > QUALIFICATION
Work from an event order and follow direction during service > Ability to project professional appearance and communicate with guests; experience in captain-led banquet service a plus
Obtain food handling and alcohol service certification > Certification in place or willingness to complete before deadline
Consistent attendance and ability to focus throughout a shift, up to eight hours > Demonstrated work history; punctual with reliable means of transportation, personal or public
Evening, weekend, and holiday availability > Flexible schedule or consistent availability
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing and walking throughout full events; carrying trays and plates; lifting up to 35 lbs; setting and breaking down furniture.
Pay: $13.00 per hour
