Full Job Description

Job Summary
The Contract Administrator will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and maintaining subcontractor agreements across active and upcoming projects. This role works closely with project managers, estimating, and ownership to ensure subcontract terms align with prime contract obligations, protect company interests, and support timely project execution.

Responsibilities

3+ years of experience in contract administration, preferably in heavy civil, infrastructure, or roadway construction
Working knowledge of standard subcontract terms (indemnification, insurance requirements, payment/performance bonds, lien waivers, retainage, flow-down clauses)
Familiarity with GDOT and/or public works contracting requirements a plus
Strong written communication and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and document management systems
Ability to manage multiple active contracts and deadlines simultaneously
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Paralegal Studies, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

Qualifications

Proven experience in procurement, vendor management, and contract administration within public sector purchasing or federal contracting environments.
Strong knowledge of contracts law including UCC law, intellectual property law, and procurement regulatory frameworks such as FAR.
Demonstrated ability in legal drafting, document review, and contract negotiation with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation.
Proficiency with document management tools like Salesforce, DocuSign, ERP systems (PeopleSoft), and records management practices.
Excellent research skills coupled with strategic planning capabilities to support proposal writing and pricing strategies.
Effective negotiation skills paired with experience in contractor management and business development initiatives.
Familiarity with grant project management processes and technical writing for complex contractual or procurement documents is a plus.
