Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Part-Time Bid Writer to join our team! In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting compelling, persuasive proposals that secure funding and contracts for nonprofit organizations and community initiatives. Your expertise in proposal writing, technical documentation, and contract management will drive our organization’s growth and impact. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to projects that make a difference in communities. Duties

Develop clear, persuasive grant proposals and contract bids tailored to funders’ requirements, including government agencies and nonprofit foundations
Conduct thorough research on potential funding sources, including databases like Raiser's Edge and other CRM systems
Manage and update bid-related databases to ensure accurate tracking of submissions, deadlines, and outcomes
Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary content, data, and supporting documents for proposals
Edit and proofread proposal drafts for clarity, accuracy, and professionalism while ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Assist in strategic planning for fundraising campaigns by preparing financial reports, budgets, and program development documents
Maintain comprehensive records of all bid activities, correspondence, and contract documentation in compliance with organizational policies

Experience

Proven experience in proposal writing, grant applications, or contract management within nonprofit or community organization settings
Familiarity with fundraising strategies involving government agencies and nonprofit foundations
Strong knowledge of databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar CRM platforms for managing donor information and fundraising data
Demonstrated ability to research funding opportunities effectively using online resources and databases
Excellent technical writing skills with an eye for detail in editing and content editing tasks
Experience with nonprofit program development, strategic planning, budgeting, and financial report writing is highly desirable
Prior experience working with nonprofit community organizations or within the nonprofit sector enhances understanding of mission-driven initiatives
