Summary/objective:
The Assistant Production Superintendent supports daily agricultural production activities while developing the skills needed to manage field operations. This role is designed as a hands-on training position, focused on learning core production practices, assisting Superintendents, collecting field data, and helping ensure accurate and consistent execution across assigned acreage.
The Assistant Superintendent works closely with experienced Production Superintendents to understand operational workflows, support field crews, and contribute to high quality crop outcomes.

- Assist with daily field tasks including tillage scheduling, cultivation, irrigation, drip tape management, and equipment movement while learning standard operating procedures.
- Help communicate instructions, reinforce expectations, and support training efforts for field employees under the guidance of a Superintendent.
- Support weekly and seasonal planting schedules, verify acreage accuracy, and report progress or issues to the planting department.
- Help assign tractors and implements, track equipment needs, and support maintenance reporting with the tractor foreman.
- Assist with implementing production trials, collect field data, and ensure accurate documentation for reporting.
- Participate in safety meetings, reinforce protocols, and help ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Help forecast labor, equipment, and material needs; identify potential constraints; and support problem solving discussions.
- Observe crop health, field conditions, and operational quality; escalate issues to the Superintendent.
- Learn production systems, identify inefficiencies, and support implementation of new technologies or improved processes.
· This position requires regular driving as an essential job function in overseeing and coordinating various aspects of the Production process

Required education and experience:
- 1–5 years in production agriculture preferred, or equivalent hands-on field experience.
- Strong interest in developing technical field knowledge and operational skills.
- Basic understanding of planting, irrigation, cultivation, soil conditions, or equipment operation.
- Ability to manage tasks, follow schedules, and support multiple priorities.
- Clear, reliable communication with supervisors and cross functional teams.
- Ability to identify issues in the field and assist in developing practical solutions.
- English/Spanish proficiency or commitment to developing bilingual skills to support crew communication
Preferred education and experience:

$110k - $135k
Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
