Full Job Description

The New Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carbondale - University Area is near Southern Illinois University and SIH. Carbondale features charming atmosphere and scenic outdoor beauty located in the Shawnee National Forest.

At the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carbondale - University Area our hotel staff welcomes you to our model college town and assures that your comfort is a top priority. Whether you are the parent of a student, or just a Saluki fan in town for the game in Carbondale, our hotel near Southern Illinois University provides the perfect location for any campus visit.

The room attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and public areas to ensure they are clean, tidy, and well-stocked. Key duties include cleaning and sanitizing rooms, changing linens, restocking amenities like soap and towels, and emptying trash. They also report maintenance issues, respond to guest requests, andmust adhere to hotel policies regarding cleanliness and guest privacy.

Key responsibilities

Cleaning and sanitizing: This includes vacuuming, dusting, mopping, sanitizing bathrooms, cleaning windows, and ensuring all surfaces are clean.
Bed and linen care: Making beds and replacing used sheets and towels with fresh ones.
Restocking supplies: Replenishing guest rooms with amenities such as toiletries, coffee, tea, and snacks.
Trash removal: Emptying trash cans and removing any other refuse from rooms.
Maintenance and reporting: Identifying and reporting any maintenance issues, damage, or missing items to supervisors.
Guest services: Responding to guest requests and questions in a friendly and professional manner.
Maintaining order: Keeping common areas, like hallways and stairways, clean and clear of obstructions.
Adhering to standards: Following established procedures for cleaning, handling laundry, and maintaining a high standard of quality.
Privacy and security: Upholding guest privacy and security at all times.

Prior hotel or similar industry experience required.

Strong attention to details.

Guest service oriented personality.
