HVS Hospitality Consulting is seeking an analytical, motivated professional to join our dynamic and collaborative consulting and valuation team. Working alongside experienced industry leaders, you'll help clients make informed investment and business decisions across the hospitality sector (bachelor's degree required).
Associates are expected to spend one year training and working in our Tampa/St. Pete, Florida, office before relocating to Miami the following year. Upon promotion to Senior Associate, employees receive a $10,000 salary increase, relocation assistance, and a $5,000 cost-of-living adjustment upon moving to Miami, along with significant long-term career and earning potential. The average salary approaches $100,000 after just a few years of learning this work and becoming exceptional in its delivery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform valuations of hotels and other hospitality-related income-producing real estate, as well as supply-and-demand analyses
- Prepare forecasts of income and expenses
- Write appraisals, market studies, feasibility studies, and consulting reports
- Use proprietary HVS models to conduct analyses
- Carry out fieldwork and property inspections, as directed
Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements
- Basic understanding of hotel operation fundamentals
- Analyze hotel financial statements and economic, lodging, and market area trends to arrive at supportable supply-and-demand forecasts
- Work as part of a team to meet individual and office objectives (NOTE: This is a work-from-the-office position, so living close to the Tampa/St. Pete office is encouraged, particularly during the initial training period!)
- Prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines
- Travel roughly 40% of the time
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Effective organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Excel skills and experience in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving skills
- A valid U.S. driver’s license
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, real estate, or hotel administration
- Experience in hotel operations (6 months to 2 years+ of hotel operations preferred)
Physical Demands
Physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Physical demands include the following:
- Frequent sitting (e.g., at the computer or in a car or airplane in transit to fieldwork); standing desks provided upon request
- Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
- Commuting to our Tampa/St. Pete office during initial training (this is a work-from-the-office position)
- Long drives are often required to visit markets throughout Florida where flying may not be convenient

Base Pay & Benefits
- $60,000 annual salary during initial training in Tampa/St. Pete, then receive $5,000 COLA in Miami, plus relocation assistance
