Full Job Description

Modern Machine is seeking an experienced Lead Mazak CNC Programmer to join our Marion location. This is a leadership position for someone who is confident in programming complex parts, leading a team, and serving as a point of contact for both employees and customers.

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, approachable, and takes pride in helping others succeed while maintaining a high standard of quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

Program Mazak CNC mills and lathes using Mazatrol and G-code.
Develop and optimize machining processes for new and existing jobs.
Oversee daily workflow and provide guidance to machinists and operators.
Train, mentor, and support employees to improve productivity and quality.
Assign work and help keep production on schedule.
Troubleshoot programming, setup, and machining issues.
Work directly with customers to discuss projects, answer technical questions, and provide machining solutions.
Collaborate with management to improve processes and efficiency.
Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer specifications.

Qualifications

Extensive experience programming Mazak CNC machines using Mazatrol and G-code.
Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable interacting professionally with customers.
Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Experience with CAD/CAM software is a plus.
