Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sheet Metal Worker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality metal structures and products, ensuring safety standards are upheld throughout all processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge fabrication techniques in a fast-paced environment that values craftsmanship and innovation.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
Operate a variety of fabrication machinery including CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, press brakes, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and forming machines to shape and assemble sheet metal components.
Set up and calibrate machining tools accurately, ensuring precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other measuring instruments.
Perform welding tasks using various techniques to join metal parts securely while adhering to safety protocols.
Use hand tools and tooling equipment for cutting, shaping, forming, and finishing sheet metal parts with high accuracy.
Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to ensure adherence to specifications and safety standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following all safety procedures related to machine operation, crane use, and material handling.

Requirements

Proven experience operating sheet metal fabrication machinery such as CNC laser cutting systems, plasma cutters, press brakes, CNC mills/lathes, stamping presses, and forming machines.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
Proficiency in using measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools for quality control.
Skilled in welding techniques including MIG, TIG or stick welding as applicable.
Familiarity with shop math concepts necessary for precise fabrication and measurement tasks.
Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely within a manufacturing setting.
Knowledge of safety standards in production environments including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Mechanical aptitude combined with strong problem-solving skills for machine setup and troubleshooting.
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection during all phases of fabrication.
