Build More Than Roofs. Build a Reputation.
At Rice Roofing & Construction, we don’t just install roofs—we build them to last.
Our reputation has been built on integrity, exceptional craftsmanship, strict adherence to building codes and manufacturer installation specifications, and treating every customer’s home or business as if it were our own.
We’re searching for a Field Operations Manager who leads with grit, loyalty, integrity, and accountability. This is one of the most important positions in our company. You’ll help protect our reputation by ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
This isn’t a position for someone who simply supervises from the truck. We need someone who leads by example, isn’t afraid to climb a ladder or grab a tool when necessary, and can think several steps ahead to keep production moving.
If you believe details matter, take pride in doing things the right way, and enjoy solving problems before they become expensive, we’d like to meet you.
Your Mission
As our Field Operations Manager, you’ll oversee residential and commercial roofing projects from material delivery through final inspection while ensuring every project is completed on schedule, within company standards, and in full compliance with building codes, manufacturer installation specifications, and OSHA safety requirements.
You’ll be expected to anticipate problems before they arise, coordinate crews and materials, solve challenges in the field, communicate effectively with the office, and deliver an exceptional experience for every customer.
You won’t simply manage projects—you’ll take ownership of them.
Responsibilities
- Lead roofing crews while setting the standard for professionalism, quality, safety, and accountability.
- Plan projects ahead of time to eliminate delays and keep production moving efficiently.
- Coordinate material ordering, deliveries, staging, and logistics so crews always have the right materials at the right time.
- Verify material quantities, organize staging areas, and manage jobsite inventory to minimize waste and prevent shortages.
- Stay prepared for the unexpected challenges that come with residential and commercial construction by making sound decisions under pressure.
- Inspect every phase of construction to ensure compliance with local building codes, manufacturer installation specifications, and Rice Roofing & Construction quality standards.
- Ensure OSHA safety standards and fall protection requirements are followed on every project.
- Perform roof inspections, diagnose leaks, identify deficiencies, and oversee proper repairs.
- Install or assist with roofing work when necessary, including shingles, metal roofing, flashings, ventilation systems, soffit, fascia, gutters, and general repairs.
- Read blueprints, construction plans, measurements, and specifications to ensure work is completed correctly.
- Meet with building inspectors and help ensure projects pass inspections the first time whenever possible.
- Document project progress, deficiencies, damages, change orders, and completed work using detailed photographs and written reports.
- Communicate daily with office staff regarding schedules, inspections, weather delays, customer concerns, material needs, and production updates.
- Train, mentor, and support crew members while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Ensure manufacturer warranty requirements are met on every applicable roofing system.
- Maintain clean, organized, safe, and professional jobsites from start to finish.
