Full Job Description

$75,000 annually, plus, depending on experience, with additional incentive opportunities.

Yates Company, LLC is a trusted mechanical contractor specializing in Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC service, and mechanical replacements across Central and South Texas. We partner with school districts, universities, municipalities, and commercial clients to deliver reliable, efficient mechanical solutions. Our reputation is built on quality, integrity, and long-term relationships – values that have helped us grow into one of the region’s most capable and respected mechanical service providers.

Our rapidly growing company is seeking a BAS Sales Executive responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to promote HVAC control systems and related company software and HVAC solutions.

The BAS Sales Executive focuses on maintaining client relationships, developing new business, coordinating with the Sales Manager and sales team, and ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate and timely proposals. The position plays a key role in sustaining the financial success and growth of the Yates Company Sales Division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify, qualify, and pursue sales opportunities for BAS services identifying client needs, propose customized automation solutions, and manage the sales process from initial inquiry to contract completion.
Conduct site visits to gather scope information and verify client needs.
Maintain an active sales pipeline using company Excel-based tracking sheets.
Coordinate with estimator and sales teams for pricing accuracy and proposal preparation.
Prepare and review all proposals with the Sales Manager prior to submission.
Follow up on all open opportunities weekly to completion.
Track awarded projects and ensure smooth transition to the Coordinator for scheduling.
Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients.
Serve as the customer’s primary contact for business proposal inquiries and project updates.
Provide timely and professional responses to customer questions or concerns.
Maintain constant and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with project management teams to ensure seamless implementation of control systems, from initial design to final deployment.
Attend and contribute to weekly Sales Department meetings.
Participate in quarterly sales review meetings to discuss results, challenges, and improvement strategies.
Maintain a monthly sales forecast, including potential opportunities and projected close dates.
Develop and issue customer proposals after Sales Manager review.
Recommend pricing strategies and customer-specific discounting.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree or meaningful industry related sales experience.
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in technical sales within a corporate sales environment focused on BAS or commercial HVAC service sales experience (or related technical background).
Demonstrated success in business development within the technology sector, with a focus on HVAC controls or building automation systems.
Strong understanding of BAS and HVAC systems, service contracts, and mechanical retrofits.
Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and digital proposal preparation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Valid Texas driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage.

Working Environment:

Work is performed in a primarily office environment including frequent remote locations or on-site at project locations. Project locations include work sites in commercial, industrial, institutional buildings, or other construction areas including outdoors environments with constant exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, metal shavings, moving objects, sharp edges, and temperature extremes.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to move throughout customer, office, and event environments.

The employee must be able to:

Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed
Work in indoor and outdoor environments, including event-based settings
View a computer terminal; extensive reading
Climb ladders and navigate through building mechanical rooms
Visual acuity to drive; Frequent operating of motor vehicles
