Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Office Billing/Insurance Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate insurance claims submission, and maintaining seamless communication with patients and insurance providers. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycles, improve patient satisfaction, and uphold the highest standards of medical billing and coding accuracy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced healthcare environment where your skills directly impact patient care and organizational success. References required.

Duties

Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
Review medical documentation to assign appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD-10 codes for procedures and diagnoses
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies and healthcare claims management
Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility prior to service delivery
Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring all billing information aligns with medical terminology and coding standards
Communicate professionally with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies or questions
Stay current with changes in health insurance policies, ICD coding updates, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance and optimal reimbursement

Skills

Strong knowledge of ICD-10 codes, CPT coding, and medical terminology
Proficiency in medical billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications
Experience with medical collection processes and healthcare claims management
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally
Familiarity with health insurance policies, benefits verification, and medical records management
Ability to interpret and apply medical coding standards accurately for billing purposes
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple claims efficiently
