Our services are designed to extend infrastructure life expectancy, bring collection systems into compliance, and ultimately improve surrounding waterways and the environment. Carylon operates a nationwide platform of 15 operating companies delivering trenchless rehabilitation solutions across the United States.

Position Overview:

Carylon is seeking an experienced Estimator to help build and lead a centralized corporate estimating function supporting our operating companies nationwide.

The successful candidate will play a key role in standardizing bidding practices, developing production-based cost models, and improving bid accuracy and win rates across a diverse portfolio of publicly bid municipal work.

The ideal candidate has experience in heavy civil, underground utilities, (Knowledge of CIPP a plus)oand is comfortable working in a unit-price, production-driven environment. Ideal canidate has worked for a heavy highway contractor performing estimating, interpreting plans and specifications, take off, interfacing with subcontractors, breaking down work scope and utilizing excel spreadsheets to organize and calculate cost/production. Ideal canidate works well in a group setting and collaborating with others.

Job Details:

Position: Estimator

Location: Canton, MA

Pay: $100,000-$130,000 per year (Negotiable based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead preparation of competitive, accurate bids for municipal and public works projects across multiple regions

· Review plans, specifications, and contract documents with a focus on risk identification and constructability

· Develop and refine production rates, crew builds, and cost models specific to CIPP and underground rehabilitation work

· Collaborate with regional operating companies, superintendents, and field leadership to validate assumptions and means/methods

· Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required

· Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing

· Participate in and help lead bid review and strategy meetings

· Support the development of standardized estimating processes, templates, and tools across the organization

· Assist in building and mentoring a corporate estimating team over time

· Analyze historical job cost data to improve future bid accuracy and margins

Qualifications:

· 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, underground utilities, pipeline rehabilitation, or related fields

· Strong understanding of unit-price bidding and public contract procurement

· Experience with CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) or trenchless technologies strongly preferred

· Proven ability to develop production-based estimates (not just quantity takeoffs)

· Experience reviewing municipal/DOT specifications and contract documents

· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

· Proficiency in estimating software and Excel-based cost modeling

· Ability to work across multiple regions and operating teams

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to perform site visits, including walking active construction sites as needed

Requirements:

· Valid driver’s license

· Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
