Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mailroom & Facilities Supervisor to lead our mailroom operations and oversee facility management. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of the newspaper and magazine sorting, packaging, and mailing process. The supervisor ensures all production tasks are completed on schedule and meet quality standards, providing leadership to the mailroom staff and ensuring effective communication across the departments.

What you will do:

Operational Management: Oversee the packaging and mailing, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
Equipment Oversight: Manage the operation of the forklift and other mechanical equipment safely in compliance with OSHA standards.
Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure all publications meet the needs of our customers and clients expectations.
Team Leadership: Train and supervise the mailroom team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on efficiency and excellence.
Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe and compliant workspace by enforcing safety regulations and best practices.
Delivery Oversight: Coordinate the preparation and staging for delivery drivers, ensuring timely dispatch of publications.
Communication and Coordination: Facilitate communication with the other departments regarding facilities management issues/maintenance.
Facility Maintenance: Work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure regulatory compliance and maintenance/repair of building such as the service elevator, HVAC equipment, boiler maintenance, etc.

What we are looking for:

Previous experience in mailroom packaging, strapping, and staging.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and take the necessary steps for building maintenance and repairs.
Supervisory experience in managing and inspiring a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft software and Outlook.
Forklift certification and a valid driver’s license.
A supervisor who is working alongside the team to achieve delivery goals and maintain standards.
Ability to lift 25 to 40 pounds.

This position can grow into a full-time position.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
