Kitchen Manager

Stucko’s Pub & Grill – Marquette, MI
$50,000–$60,000 per year | Full-Time

Stucko’s Pub & Grill is looking for an experienced, dependable Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house team.

We’re a busy, established local restaurant with a fast-paced kitchen, a loyal customer base, and a team that takes pride in putting out good food consistently. We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the kitchen, lead by example, keep things organized, and work alongside the team when needed.

This is a hands-on management position. We want someone who is comfortable leading a shift, coaching employees, managing food and labor costs, solving problems, and jumping on the line when business demands it.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Leading and supervising day-to-day kitchen operations
Managing, training, coaching, and developing BOH employees
Creating and maintaining kitchen schedules
Maintaining appropriate staffing levels and helping cover gaps when necessary
Ensuring food is prepared consistently according to Stucko’s recipes and standards
Maintaining food quality, presentation, portioning, and ticket-time standards
Overseeing food prep and making sure the kitchen is prepared for each service
Ordering food and kitchen supplies
Managing inventory, product rotation, waste, and food costs
Monitoring labor costs and making staffing decisions based on business volume
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements
Helping maintain kitchen equipment and communicating repair or maintenance needs
Working closely with ownership and front-of-house management
Addressing employee concerns, performance issues, and conflicts professionally
Helping develop stronger systems, procedures, and training as the restaurant continues to grow
Being available to respond to reasonable calls or messages from management regarding urgent kitchen issues

What We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

Has previous restaurant kitchen experience, preferably in a high-volume environment
Has previous kitchen leadership or management experience
Is confident working multiple kitchen stations and willing to work alongside the team
Can stay calm and make decisions during busy services
Knows how to hold employees accountable without creating an unnecessarily negative work environment
Is organized and able to manage scheduling, ordering, inventory, prep, and daily operations
Understands food cost, portion control, waste reduction, and labor management
Communicates well with both BOH and FOH employees
Is dependable and takes ownership when something needs to be handled
Can balance maintaining standards with building a kitchen people actually want to work in

ServSafe certification or similar food-safety certification is preferred.

Schedule

This is a full-time salaried management position. The Kitchen Manager should expect a schedule that includes a combination of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the restaurant.

Restaurant management isn’t a Monday-through-Friday desk job, but we also believe a good kitchen should not require its manager to live at work. Building a reliable team, developing strong leaders, and creating systems that keep the kitchen running smoothly are important parts of this position.

Compensation

$50,000–$60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

We’re entering a new chapter under new ownership while keeping the personality and traditions that have made Stucko’s what it is. At the same time, we’re working to improve our systems, technology, training, and overall efficiency.

We’re looking for a Kitchen Manager who wants to be an important part of that next chapter, not simply someone to fill a schedule.
