Full Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a dedicated school social worker for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time maternity leave position—anticipated to begin in October—offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in students' lives within a supportive educational environment.

You’ll play a vital role in advocating for student well-being, promoting social-emotional growth, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for each child.

Qualifications & Experience:

Valid, full certification as a school social worker (please provide current certificate with your application)
Experience in a school-based or educational setting preferred
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Strong ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
Commitment to equity and culturally responsive practices
Proven skills in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and case management

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct social work services and support for students and families
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrative staff to develop and implement individualized education and behavioral plans
Facilitate individual and group sessions to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
Conduct assessments to identify barriers to academic and social success
Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies
Contribute to a positive school climate through advocacy and proactive initiatives

This is a full-time contract role with up to 40 hours per week, allowing you to deeply engage with and support the school community during this impactful leave period.
