What began with just 28 seed varieties has grown into one of the country’s leading suppliers of professional-quality organic seed, offering more than 600 heirloom, open-pollinated, and hybrid varieties.
From our 40-acre farm in beautiful northern Vermont, we are passionate about providing exceptional seed, supporting sustainable agriculture, and serving farmers and gardeners across the country.
We are looking for an experienced sales representative to build new relationships and deepen existing relationships with customers, broaden our brand recognition, and grow our revenue. This position is primarily focused on selling to commercial growers through both inbound and outbound channels, with the opportunity to develop a wholesale portfolio as well. The ideal candidate will have sales and farming experience, and live in MD, NC, NJ, PA, or VA within a 2-hour drive of a major airport.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Sales: Develop, implement, and analyze specific sales strategies to meet revenue goals.
Outreach: Conduct outreach calls and visits to organic vegetable farms to meet or exceed sales goals.
Expertise: Develop expert knowledge of the varieties of vegetables, flowers, and herbs that High Mowing Organic Seeds and its partners are breeding, producing, and selling as well as those of High Mowing’s competitors.
Listening: Learn from growers about wholesale and direct market demands and help growers meet those demands.
Collaboration: Share trends and insights gathered through communication with customers and growers with the Sales, Marketing, and Product Development teams.
Travel: Represent High Mowing Organic Seeds at tradeshows and conferences, including making presentations about new techniques, varieties, research, and other topics.
Content: Assist in the development of marketing materials, blog articles, and other materials as needed, in cooperation with the Marketing Department.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
· Experience with commercial organic vegetable production or broad knowledge of commercial vegetable varieties and organic farming techniques.
· Experienced salesperson who is a proven relationship builder and sales closer.
· Motivated to identify and pursue new sales opportunities.
· Excited to develop, trial, and refine sales strategies based on outcomes.
· Enjoys outreach on the phone and in-person.
· Strong computer skills and ability to learn new programs quickly with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
· Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to remain friendly, calm, and positive in the midst of challenging interactions.
·Solution-oriented problem-solving mentality.
· Confidence in ability to work independently and execute complicated tasks without intensive supervision.
· Willingness to ask questions and respond constructively to feedback.
· Ability to adapt to change and thrive in a rapidly growing work environment.
· Sense of humor and a positive attitude.
· Multilingual capability a plus, especially Spanish.
· Willing to travel extensively within the sales region.

Work Location
This position is remote, with a preference for living in MD, NC, NJ, PA, or VA within a 2-hour drive of a major airport.
Travels 10–25% of the time — including some weekends and overnights — to visit customers, attend industry events, and represent High Mowing at trade shows and conferences across the U.S.
