Front Office Specialist III Job Description

Martin TN- 12 Hour Shifts

Role Overview: The Front Office Specialist III at Jackson Clinic is responsible for a wide range of administrative and customer service duties, both in-office and remotely. The position focuses on verifying patient information, managing payments and accounts, scheduling appointments, and ensuring accurate insurance and billing processes. The role also emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information.
Receive, post, and balance payments; prepare daily deposit reports.
Schedule and manage patient appointments, including pre-working accounts for eligibility and benefits.
Assist patients with account questions, insurance claims, and financial arrangements.
Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and clinic policies.
Support and train new employees; collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to resolve account and billing issues.
Provide customer service via phone, in-person, email, or text, depending on work setting (in-office, remote, or lab).
Handle special tasks such as ordering lab tests, managing office supplies, and assisting with forms.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; 2 years of college preferred.
At least 2 years of medical field experience with a focus on insurance and billing (external applicants).
Internal applicants must have at least 1 year as a Front Office Specialist I with a positive evaluation.
Strong customer service, communication, math, and computer skills.
Knowledge of medical office procedures, insurance, and billing practices.
Valid Tennessee driver's license and reliable transportation required.
