Full Job Description

Triton Defense is seeking a reliable, skilled Commercial Electrician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for performing high-quality electrical installations in custom-fabricated modules that support critical infrastructure applications, including generator systems, backup power, communications, air filtration, and industrial control equipment.

This is a hands-on position requiring craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in producing organized, safe, and professional work. Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation

Pull and terminate conductors ranging from 22 AWG control wire to 750 MCM power cable.
Install EMT, PVC, rigid conduit, cable tray, and wire management systems.
Install and wire electrical panels, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, battery backup systems, motors, HVAC equipment, lighting, and control systems.
Install communication, instrumentation, and control wiring.
Assist with installation and maintenance of plant electrical distribution systems and manufacturing equipment.
Perform equipment startup and functional testing.

Layout & Assembly

Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts.
Lay out conduit and equipment for clean, professional installations.
Coordinate with fabrication, mechanical, and engineering teams throughout production.
Perform material take-offs and identify required installation materials.

Troubleshooting & Testing

Diagnose electrical issues using multimeters, megohm meters, continuity testers, and other diagnostic equipment.
Verify proper operation of electrical and control systems.
Assist with system commissioning and quality inspections.

Safety & Compliance

Perform all work in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA requirements, and company safety standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Ensure all installations meet Triton quality standards and customer specifications.

Qualifications

Required

3–5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
Strong understanding of electrical theory and NEC requirements.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Experience bending and installing EMT, PVC, and rigid conduit.
Experience terminating both power and control wiring.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physical work throughout the day.

Preferred

Journeyman Electrician license (preferred but not required).
Experience with generators, UPS systems, switchgear, industrial controls, or communications equipment.
Experience working in manufacturing or modular equipment assembly.
Forklift, aerial lift, or OSHA certifications are a plus.
