Technical Apprentice / Engineering Support Position / Worked Based Learning
Metalcraft is seeking a motivated, mechanically inclined individual interested in gaining hands-on experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for entry-mid level candidates to launch a rewarding career in engineering and manufacturing while developing technical skills alongside experienced engineering, production, and maintenance professionals.
Hours: Approximately 15-20 hours per week
Day Time Only (flexible schedule)
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist engineering, production and maintenance teams as needed.
- Support engineering projects and help prepare general manufacturing operations.
- Assist with product testing and evaluation activities.
- Research and identify materials for engineering projects.
- Gather and prepare materials for testing and production.
- Gather, organize, and present test data and results.
- Assist production with the manufacturing or assembly of fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities and maintain maintenance records.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and common-sense problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
- Interest in troubleshooting, fabrication, and hands-on technical work.
- Strong will and ability to learn new skills.
- Positive attitude.
Training and Career Development Opportunities
Metalcraft will provide training and/or hands-on experience in:
- Safety Training
- Engineering test setup and data collection.
- Manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Preventive maintenance of industrial equipment, including high-pressure nitrogen systems.
- Welding and metal fabrication.
- Mill and lathe operation for custom part manufacturing.
- High-pressure fitting and system assembly.
- General troubleshooting and technical problem-solving.

Pay: $15.36 - $18.72 per hour
