Do You Love Math and Enjoy Working with Kids?

Mathnasium of Anderson is seeking a motivated, math-confident leader to help students in grades 2–12 build strong math skills and gain confidence in the classroom. This is an ideal opportunity for a retired teacher, graduate student, math major, engineer, accountant, or other professional with a strong math background who enjoys working directly with children.

This is a year-round position and is not a summer-only job.

Required Availability

Because our students attend after school, applicants must be consistently available Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This schedule is essential and is a primary requirement for the position.

What You'll Do

As Assistant Center Director / Lead Instructor, you will combine instructional excellence with leadership responsibilities.

Student Instruction & Engagement

Teach and tutor students using the Mathnasium Method™
Lead small groups while providing individualized instruction
Help students develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude toward math
Monitor student progress and maintain high levels of engagement during sessions

Leadership & Operations

Support the Center Director with student assessments and learning plans
Coach and mentor instructional staff
Assist with training and development of team members
Communicate student progress with parents and guardians
Help maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming learning environment
Assist with administrative and operational responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Required

College degree
Strong math skills, including proficiency through at least Algebra I
Passion for working with children and helping them succeed
Ability to explain math concepts clearly and patiently
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Availability Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Basic computer proficiency

Preferred

Teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or youth leadership experience
Experience managing or leading teams
Background in education, mathematics, engineering, accounting, finance, or a related field

Additional Requirements

All applicants will be required to:

Complete a math literacy assessment demonstrating strong math proficiency
Provide proof of work authorization
Pass a background check

If you are hired to work at a center, the franchisee will be your employer, not Mathnasium.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
