Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant with phlebotomy experience to join our clinical team.

This is a hands-on position supporting our providers and patients throughout the day. The ideal candidate is comfortable with core Medical Assistant responsibilities, has experience performing blood draws, and enjoys working directly with patients in a smaller, relationship-focused clinical environment.

Because Ace Integrative Health provides a variety of integrative treatments, testing, and wellness services, we are especially interested in someone who is adaptable, eager to learn, highly organized, and comfortable supporting multiple areas of patient care.

We are also looking for someone who sees this as an opportunity to grow with the practice long-term. As Ace Integrative Health continues to expand, there may be opportunities for the right team member to develop additional skills, take on increased responsibility, and grow professionally alongside the clinic.

Key Responsibilities

Room patients and assist with patient intake and preparation for appointments
Obtain and accurately document vital signs and relevant patient information
Support physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and other licensed clinical staff during patient visits
Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection in accordance with training, competency, clinic protocols, and applicable requirements
Collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
Maintain proper aseptic technique and infection-control practices
Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient care
Assist licensed clinical providers with the preparation and workflow surrounding IV therapies and other integrative treatments, within appropriately delegated responsibilities
Monitor and support patient comfort throughout visits and procedures
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Assist with clinical supplies, inventory, stocking, and treatment-room organization
Communicate clearly and reassuringly with patients before and during procedures
Help maintain an organized, efficient, clean, and welcoming clinical environment
Follow established clinic procedures, safety standards, confidentiality requirements, and patient-care protocols
Learn and support additional integrative treatments and technologies used within the clinic as appropriate to the position

Qualifications

Medical Assistant training, certification, and/or relevant clinical experience
Hands-on phlebotomy and venipuncture experience strongly preferred
Experience working directly with patients in a medical or outpatient setting
Comfortable obtaining vital signs and documenting patient information
Familiarity with specimen collection, processing, labeling, and laboratory procedures
Understanding of aseptic technique and infection-control practices
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and patient-care skills
Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate records
Compassionate and reassuring when working with nervous or anxious patients
Comfortable learning new clinical procedures, technologies, and workflows
Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, nurses, and other members of the care team
Alignment with our commitment to whole-person, patient-centered care

Preferred Qualifications

Medical Assistant certification
Phlebotomy certification
Current BLS/CPR certification
Strong and recent venipuncture experience
Experience processing laboratory specimens
Experience supporting IV therapy or infusion services in a clinical setting
Experience in primary care, functional medicine, integrative medicine, urgent care, or another outpatient clinical setting

Schedule

Monday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Approximately 10-28 scheduled hours per week.

Due to the dynamic nature of our therapies and patient care, scheduled times may occasionally extend.
